Here are highlights in history for Nov. 5, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1989 — A reunion was held for the employees of the former Albert Lea Cooperative Creamery Association. This firm was a part of local history and life from December 1891 to 1967.
1979 — St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Newry had closed for nine weeks for a remodeling project.
1949 — Dick Nelson was King of Spooks and Jeanne Cady was the Queen of Witches for the local Halloween parade and celebration, according to a Tribune article and photo.
