Here are highlights in history for Nov. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1984 — Aaron Summers received 5,435 votes and Barb Butler received 3,182 votes in the election to be the next mayor of Albert Lea.

1974 — One part of The Territory House in Otisco, located between New Richland and Waseca, was known as the Loft.

1954 — Records at Albert Lea City Hall showed that 345 out of 450 eligible voters in the 1st Ward participated in the election.
