1988 — Members of the local veterans’ organizations, the Albert Lea High School band and local citizens observed Veterans Day at the Freeborn County Courthouse.

1978 — The fall special at the Albert Lea Country Kitchen was a slice of pumpkin pie for 44 cents during November.

1958 — The goal for a fund raising drive in Ellendale was to bring a doctor, dentist and druggist to the community.
