The committee has met a couple times now and plans are underway for the 35th Annual Sparky Golf Tournament.
The date has been set for July 29, 2010, with the location being the Wedgewood Cove Golf Course.
The committee is working on some special events to highlight the 35th anniversary.
The Sparky Tournament was originally headed up by Rick Ferry and then Dan Kruse took on the task, following him were Doug Peterson, Mark Stadheim, Gerry Vogt, American Bank and the Arc committee, just to name a few. You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy this event. You may volunteer to work at it that day or there are also tickets available for the evening supper, silent and live auction and program.
If anyone has old photos or any history they would like to share please contact the ARC office at 377-3469.
The tournament has a long history in the community and organizers are working to keep it a huge success. The funds raised from this event help provide support for activities and opportunities for the youth and citizens of Freeborn County with special needs.
Mark your calendars and look for more information to be published as plans are set.
