Craft shows, breakfasts and comedy mean busy weekend

The Alden American Legion Auxiliary will host its 24th annual holiday craft fair in both gymnasiums of the Alden-Conger Public School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

There will be all types of crafts and handmade gift items available for purchase. A concession stand with snacks and beverages will be open. Morning coffee and a noon meal will also be available.

Following is a roundup of events happening in the area this weekend.

Friday, Nov. 13

 Northbridge Mall will host a holiday craft show from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Albert Lea Community Theatre will present “Breaking Legs,” an adult comedy, at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. For tickets, call the box office at 377-4371.

Saturday, Nov. 15

 Northbridge Mall will host a holiday craft show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 15

The Albert Lea Alano Society, 1005 N. Ulstad Ave., will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice will be served. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger.

The Alden-Conger Supermileage Team will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Alden-Conger School. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk, coffee and juice will be served for a donation.

Albert Lea TTT, Chapter W, a nonprofit philanthropic organization of women, will host an all-you-can-eat Dad’s Belgian Waffles breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club, 142 N. Broadway Ave. Cost is $6 per person. Children 5 years and younger eat free.

The Carpenter, Iowa, Community Club will hold a dance from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Community Center. The Ray Sands Combo will play. Admission is $7 per person.

 Northbridge Mall will host a holiday craft show from noon to 5 p.m.

 The Albert Lea Thunder hockey team will play Bismarck at 5:30 p.m. at the Albert Lea City Arena.
