Here are highlights in history for Nov. 24, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — Freeborn County Sheriff Don Nolander said six to eight of the 20 inmates at the jail would be able to go to their homes for Thanksgiving. These inmates were part of the jail’s work release program.
1983 — The Waseca High School Band participated in the 57th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
1973 — Freeborn County Sheriff Holland Laak asked the county commissioners to consider more water safety regulations for Fountain Lake.
