Police arrested a 59-year-old Albert Lea man Wednesday evening after he allegedly brandished a weapon at some other people on the 2200 block of Milo Avenue.
According to police, Reed Steven Nelson was arrested for felony terroristic threats and second-degree assault.
He is in the Freeborn County jail awaiting charges.
Reports stated Nelson had recently sold his house and was attempting to move out that day; however, because of the weather, he was not able to move all of his belongings out. The buyer of the house arrived with his friends to move some of his belongings into the house.
According to police, Nelson and the buyer reportedly got into a verbal disagreement after Nelson was going to let a dog back into the house with muddy feet.
Nelson allegedly hit one man in the face with a flashlight and then returned to the kitchen and retrieved a 9mm pistol and pointed it at the people.
At that point, the buyer and his friends left and called police.
Albert Lea police and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies surrounded the house, and one officer was later able to talk Nelson out of the house.
Authorities searched the house and reportedly found more than 40 guns.
