Crashes reported on Interstate 35

Two separate vehicle crashes were reported on Interstate 35 near the bridge over Albert Lea Lake.

According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, the first crash involved a truck pulling an RV at about 5:57 p.m. near mile marker 9 1/2 of I-35.

The second crash involved a semi that jackknifed near mile marker 9 of I-35 at 8:34 p.m. Reports stated the semi blocked one lane of traffic.

There were no injuries in either crash; two people from the first crash were transported to Comfort Inn.

No other details were available as of press time.

Trailer broken into Tuesday

A trailer at 628 Larimore Circle was reported broken into at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The incident reportedly happened sometime Monday night. Damage is estimated at $200.

Man cited for marijuana, possession

Police cited Steven George Knutson, 56, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of West Main Street and St. Mary Avenue, according to police reports.
