Astronomy expert to host Pelican Breeze II

Local Astronomy expert, Ken Fiscus, will be hosting two evenings on the Pelican Breeze II to watch the best meteor shower of the year. This incredible meteor will be viewed while cruising Albert Lea Lake from 10 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Aug. 10, and Saturday, Aug. 11. Fiscus was a Minnesota Science Teacher of the Year, a finalist in the first group of teacher astronauts, and has been studying astronomy since 1980. Cost is $12 per person. Reservations are needed by 4 p.m. on Friday.

The Green Mill will be providing pizza for the Aug. 10 cruise. Adult beverages and pop and water are available. The boat leaves the dock at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for ages 5 and under. Reservations are needed by 4 p.m. Friday.

Aug. 12 is the weekly public cruise at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for 5 and under. No reservations are needed.
