LAKE MILLS, Iowa — Lindy Pins scored 20 points Friday and Megan Johnson added 17 as the Lake Mills Bulldogs girls’ basketball team beat the Belmond-Klemme Broncos 70-23.
“Johnson played outstanding in the middle,” Bulldogs head coach Beth Van Roekel said. “Pins gave us another good effort.”
The Bulldogs (5-1, 2-0 North Iowa) led the Broncos 39-4 at halftime as Belmond-Klemme made just nine field goals the entire game.
“We played very strong defense,” Van Roekel said. “All the girls contributed and it was a good conference win.”
Sarah Hengesteg scored nine points for the Bulldogs while Amanda Lampman chipped in eight.
The Bulldogs play again at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Garner-Hayfield.
