18-year-old caught in auger in fair condition

Eighteen-year-old Alex Hanson, who was caught in an auger on Saturday at 3961 Pheasant Ave. in Kensett, Iowa, was listed in fair condition on Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman with Mercy Hospital.

Hanson was hospitalized after the Worth County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Saturday of Hanson being caught in the auger.

Upon arriving at the scene, he had been freed from the auger. He was transported to Mercy Hospital by Mercy Air Life.

Purse stolen

A purse was reported stolen out of a vehicle on the 100 block of North Broadway Avenue at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday, according to police reports.

Woman arrested for DWI after crash

Holly Jo Low, 36, no address listed, was reportedly arrested for second-degree DWI after the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a traffic crash on U.S. Highway 65 north of Glenville. Low’s child, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was released to the father at the Law Enforcement Center.

Garage broken into, tools stolen

A garage on the 800 block of Madison Avenue was reported broken into at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. Power tools, valued at $500, were reported stolen. According to police reports, the incident happened sometime Tuesday night.

Vehicle broken into

A vehicle was reported broken into on the 300 block of Vine Avenue at 3:16 p.m. Monday, according to police reports.
