WELLS — Kernel Days in Wells will take place this weekend.

The celebration unofficially started with the Wells Library Foundation Salad Luncheon at the American Legion Wednesday morning. The Little Miss Kernel Pageant originally scheduled for today has been moved to Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bevcomm Stage.

The official start will be Friday with a Kernel Days kickoff party with a free lunch at 11 a.m. at Wells Federal Bank. The evening will conclude with The Broad Band on Bevcomm Stage for live music at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

On Saturday, there will be softball, volleyball, bocce ball, bean bag and cribbage tournaments. There will also be a car cruise and show, a pool party, street dance, parade, petting zoo and bingo.

The festivities will conclude on Sunday with a pancake breakfast, softball tournament and golf tournament.

All events will take place at Half Moon Park unless otherwise noted.

12 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Historical Interpreter portrays President Lincoln, Depot Museum

3 p.m.: Free ice cream, Peoples State Bank of Wells
