Albert Lea Area Schools, St. Theodore Catholic School and Hollandale Christian School closed one hour early today.
New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Schools closed at 1:30 p.m. today and will have no evening activities.
United South Central Schools and Alden-Conger Schools announced Thursday they would dismiss classes early because of heavy snowfall. USC closed at 1 p.m. and A-C closed at 1:30 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, snow was predicted to fall across much of south-central Minnesota on Thursday, tapering off around in the late afternoon. The region from Gaylord to Eyota and from Blue Earth to Harmony is in a winter weather advisory. It extends into the Decorah, Iowa, area, too.
Albert Lea is expected to receive 2 to 5 inches from the storm.
