Here are highlights in history for Dec. 28, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — The Tribune published a postcard photo based on the construction of Salem Lutheran Church at the corner of Washington Avenue and Water Street in 1922.
1980 — A photo in the Tribune emphasized how the local housing units always increased during the winter, based on ice fishing houses.
1970 — Albert Lea Artist Lloyd Herfindahl was one of the participants in a landscape art show at the West Lake Gallery in Minneapolis.
