Here are highlights in history for Dec. 29, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991 — The Albert Lea Community Child Care Center would be starting the new year in a new building located near the Channel View Apartments on James Avenue.
1981 — Kenny Paulson and Cheri VanRyswyk were selected as king and queen for the Albert Lea High School Snow Dance held at the American Legion Club.
1971 — The Albert Lea City Council and School District 241 Board of Education were considering the construction of an indoor ice arena costing about $350,000.
