FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA- The Albert Lea Tigers wrestling team scored 91.5 points as they sit in fifth place out of 56 teams after the first day of action at the Rumble on the Red wrestling tournament in Fargo, North Dakota.

The Tigers have four wrestlers that are still in the winners bracket as Dakota Wangsness (103), Trey Hable (145), Dalton Westerlund (152) and Caleb Gaudian (215) were undefeated in the first day and all advanced to the third round.

Wangsness earned a bye in the first round, then pinned Zang Vang in 34 seconds and then earned a 7-5 decision over Jordan Moser to make it into the third round.

Hable started the day with a bye and then pinned Austin Boniface in 1:16 and then earned a 18-2 technical fall over Holton Lubinski to advance to the third round.

Westerlund advanced to the third round with a pin and two decisions.

Gaudian also advanced to the third round as he pinned Brennon Olson in 50 seconds and then earned a 6-0 decision over Jake Tiede.

Garrett Wangsness (112), Cory Hansen (160), Connor Kortan (189) and Alex Nielsen (HWT.) are all in the wrestle back portion of the brackets for the Tigers.

Albert Lea will conclude the Rumble on the Red tournament on Thursday.
