The Albert Lea Tigers boys’ basketball team made seven 3-pointers Tuesday and beat the Rochester John Marshall Rockets 54-41 in Rochester.

Kyle Wichman made five 3-pointers and lead the Tigers (3-6, 1-4 Big Nine) with 19 points.

“I was really pleased with our defense,” Tigers head coach Lucas Kreuscher said. “We were in the correct position, grabbed rebounds and contested their shots. Our defense is why we won the game.”

Kyle Ooms recorded his second straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tigers play next at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Mankato East (4-6, 3-2) in Albert Lea.
