Why send U.S. funds abroad?

Why does our government continue to have embassies, trade with and give aid to any country who opposes the American government and our way of life? The ambassador and the other three Americans who got murdered in Libya knew they were at risk. The last positive thing we did in that country was when Ronald Reagan ordered an airstrike that killed Muammar Gaddafi’s grandchild (trying to get him). That was to avenge the Pan-Am bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Let’s get out of these countries and let them handle it. It’s going to take a president with bigger ones than JFK had to get us out of these areas. (This certainly excludes the current sitting one and maybe the next.) He could not get us out of Vietnam without being killed. The United States sends $4.25 billion annually to Pakistan. Last I checked they hid Osama bin Laden for two years! This was as one in five children in the United States don’t get enough to eat every day. This, believe it or not, has trickled down to local government. More to follow someday when I cool down.
