After competing at a strong Blue Earth tournament this past weekend, NRHEG bounced back in a big way on Tuesday, defeating conference rival USC in three games, 25-20, 25-13, 25-14.
Anna Schlaak patrolled the net all night for the Panthers tallying 18 kills on the night, while going 3-for-4 for serving and adding three digs.
Alyssa Hagen was perfect from the service line, going 19-for-19 and recording 14 points. She also had a team high six digs.
Alyssa Kerkoff was also perfect in the serving department, going 17-for-17 and recording 12 points. She also added five digs.
Kacie Phillips led all Panthers with 28 assists.
“I was really pleased with the results tonight,” said Panthers head coach Jackie Schultz. “Game one we started extremely strong, but we made some mental errors and gave away points that allowed USC to stay in the game. We are to the point in the season that we can not give those kind of points away.”
The Rebels were led on the night by Marielle Schultz, who tallied 13 assists, while going 11-for-11 for the night in serving. Kayla Stenzel stood out at the net for USC. She recorded 10 kills on the night. Danielle Koestler also contributed 10 digs and two kills for the Rebels.
NRHEG has a tough task coming to town on Thursday, as they host the No. 1-ranked team in Class A, Bethlehem Academy. The match starts at 7:30 p.m.
