I would like to thank everyone who got out and voted in the special primary election on Jan. 18 for the candidate of their choice. I would also like to thank everyone who stepped up to run for the District 5 seat in the primary. It is not easy to run for public office so I thought it was great that so many fine candidates ran and let their views be heard on where they feel we need to head as a county.

I would like to congratulate Tony Pestorious for making it through the primary and am looking forward to discussing the issues with him and with the citizens of the District 5 leading up to the special election on March 15.
