GLENVILLE — The Glenville-Emmons Wolverines boys’ basketball team overcame their worst shooting performance of the season Tuesday and beat the Lyle/Austin Pacelli Athletics 55-44 in Glenville.
The Wolverines (13-0, 10-0 Southeast) shot 9-for-22 from the free throw line and 4-of-19 from the 3-point line, and led the Athletics (4-9, 4-5) just 48-44 with less than five minutes left in the game.
“You’ve got to win ugly sometimes and tonight we definitely did,” Wolverines head coach Dan Fredrickson said. “Our guys did a nice job of staying poised down the stretch.”
Andrew Lau led the Wolverines with 23 points, 16 rebounds and four steals, while Tyler Woodside chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.
