The Lake Mills volleyball team picked its sixth straight North Iowa Conference regular season title Tuesday in Lake Mills with a 3-0 win over Garner-Hayfield.

The Bulldogs (25-3, 7-0 NIC) scored a 25-4, 25-17, 25-14 victory over the Cardinals for their 42nd consecutive win against a conference opponent in the regular season.

“We are happy to get our sixth straight NIC regular season title,” said Lake Mills head coach Jim Boehmer. “This group has worked hard and we are glad to get the NIC title.”

It was clear the Bulldogs wanted to gain the title as quickly as they could because they pummeled Garner-Hayfield 25-4 in the first set.

Lindy Pins had a spectacular game for Lake Mills. She tallied 10 kills at the net, six digs, and four serving aces. Pins has given the Bulldogs yet another option at the net.

“Lindy Pins had a great night tonight,” Boehmer said. “We need her to dominate for us. We want five hitters capable of dominating in the front row.”

Darcy Nelson had eight kills and Amanda Lampman had five as the other top hitters for Lake Mills.

The Bulldogs go to West Hancock for the North Iowa Conference tournament.
