Knights volleyball prevails in wild five-set match

It was a wild match for the Alden-Conger volleyball team Tuesday when it traveled to Cleveland to face the Clippers.
Three of the five sets went into extra time and the Knights came away with their third victory of the season.
“It was a real big confidence booster for my girls,” said Alden-Conger head coach Melissa Wasmoen. “They really needed a win.”
The Knights won the first set 26-24, but dropped the second 28-26, and the third 25-18. Alden-Conger rallied for a 25-14 win in the fourth set and held off Cleveland in the fifth 16-14.
Katie Hallman led the Knights (3-7) with eight kills and added three blocks. Allyssa Maras had eight kills as well. Alli Songstad had 26 assists. Ariel Keller had five ace serves and Taylor Martin had four.
