Here are highlights in history for Feb. 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — The emblem used for the Millhouse in Alden depicted a pioneer building with a water wheel for power. In reality, the Alden version was actually a regular storefront location.
1976 — A photo in the Tribune showed the owl that lost its life when it smashed into the windshield of a pickup driven by David Carlson of Twin Lakes.
1966 — The nation’s largest chapter of the American War Dads organization was located in Albert Lea. Clarence Hanson was the local president.
