The Iowa Girls Coaches Association recently selected Lake Mills’ senior Carlie Christianson to play on its All-Star team. Thirty-two girls total were selected from among all classes.
“This is an amazing accomplishment considereing over 12,200 girls participate in high school volleyball state wide,” Bulldogs head coach Jim Boehmer said.
The selection of Christianson is the second year in a row that a Lake Mills player was selected for the team. Last year, senior Josie Brackey was selected.
“This is a great honor for our program,” Boehmer said. “Carlie is a complete player that can play so many different positions. She can set, play left side or right side or even play as a defensive specialist.”
Christianson has played in the last two state tournaments and has been a part of the 130-3 record over the last three years as of Oct. 23.
The group of 32 girls will be divided into four teams for the All-Star matches.
The 2012 IGCA senior volleyball classic weekend will be Nov. 16 and 17.
