Angler places 28th in fishing

Jason Howland, a local angler, placed 28th in the Everstart Championships that took place Nov. 1-4. There were 153 registered fisherman in the competition that took place in Monroe, La, on the Ouachita River.
With his placing, Howland won $500.
Now Howland will look forward to June when he will compete in the All-American tournament in Tennesee for a chance to win $50,000.
He qualified for the tournament after placing in the top 40 of the Great Lakes Division.
The 39-year-old has been fishing since he was a kid and bought his first fishing boat at age 14.
