John Beyer, 70, New Richland

The funeral service for John O. Beyer of New Richland will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Scott Williams will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

John died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his home. He was 70 years old.

John was born April 8, 1942, in Minnetonka, to Otto and Elsbeth (Mundki) Beyer. He graduated from St. Louis Park High School in St. Louis Park. John married Deborah Johnson on April 24, 1965, in Marietta. They have resided in Marietta, Lake Lillian and New Richland. John worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as a clerk for 35 years. John enjoyed everything that involved the railroad. He enjoyed collecting railroad memorabilia, riding trains and traveling to various places taking pictures of railroad depots. John also enjoyed delivering the Albert Lea Tribune in his retirement.

John is survived by his wife: Deborah Beyer of New Richland; son: Daniel Beyer and his wife Jackie of Dallas, Texas, and their children: Jonathan and Kari; daughter: Kathleen Bartelt and her husband Gerald of Waterville; sister: Valieta Norris of Paynesville; niece: Yvette Lechner and her husband Richard of Minnetonka.

John is preceded in death by his parents: Otto and Elsbeth Beyer; brother-in-law: Dr. Howard Norris.
