Swimmmers place 13th

The Albert Lea boys’ swimming and diving team placed 13th at the Tiger Relay Invitational that they hosted Saturday with a score of 64.
Lakeville North won the meet with a score of 159.
“I thought we were much improved over last year,” Tigers’ head coach Jon Schmitz said.
He added that the meet is a good experience for his small, young team to see other swimmers and see what they need to do to improve themselves.
Kyle Zogg placed 10th in the diving portion of the meet with a score of 147.35. Faribault won with a score of 616.35.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Corbin Schultz, Zogg, Preston Smith and Larry Holcomb placed 10th with a time of 1 minute, 53.71 seconds.
In the 600-yard freestyle relay the Tigers’ team of Daniel Gould, Luke Sunblad and Kendrick Fjeldberg placed 12th with a time of 6:45.20.
The Tigers’ also took 12th in the 300-yard medley relay with a time of 3:33.03. The team was made up of Holcomb, Simith and Travis Nemec.
In the 200-yard freestyle the Albert Lea team of Andrew Field, Ryan Nelson, Aaron Zogg and Esteban Johnson placed 13th with a time of 2:09.47.
In the 850-yard freestyle crescendo relay the Tigers placed 10th with a time of 9:43.53. The team was made up of Field, Johnson, Sunblad and Gould.
In the 300-yard butterfly relay the Tigers had their highest finish with a time of 3:20.71 for eighth place. The team was Schultz, Fjeldberg and Smith.
Albert Lea had three 11th place finishes. The races were the 300-yard backstroke relay, 300-yard breaststroke relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
In the 300-yard breaststroke Kyle Zogg, Gould and Aaron Zogg had a time of 4:01.11.
In the 300-yard backstroke Schultz, Nemec and Fjeldberg finished with a time of 3:39.05 and in the 400-yard freestyle, Holcomb, Sunblad and Johnson finished with a time of 4:18.32.
