Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said he had no update on the team’s search for a swingman to replace Josh Howard, who was released Dec. 20 after suffering a season-ending knee injury.
The Wolves have also lost guard Malcolm Lee for the season with a knee injury. They had 11 healthy players for their game Wednesday night, Dec. 26, against Houston at Target Center. Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said last week the team would sign a player to fill the roster spot.
Adelman was slightly evasive when asked if the team has worked out any prospects.
“I have not worked out anybody, and I haven’t seen anybody work out,” Adelman said before Wednesday’s game.
The Wolves reportedly have worked out Lazar Hayward, who was with the team in 2010-11 under then-coach Kurt Rambis. Hayward is a free agent after he was released by Houston following the James Harden trade. Hayward was included in the deal when he and Harden were with Oklahoma City.
