Bulldog runners compete at West Fork Meet

The Lake Mills cross country teams competed against 10 teams Monday at West Fork.
Leading the charge for the Bulldog boys was freshman Zach Marpe, who finished the 5-kilometer race in a time of 19 minutes, 6 seconds good enough to take home 18th place for Lake Mills. Marpe’s 18th place finish helped the Bulldogs to a fifth place finish at West Fork.
Following Marpe, Cory Ammodt crossed the the finish line in a time of 19:34 to place 22nd overall. Tim Brandt followed with a 25th place finish in a time of 19:49. After Brandt was Jacob Sorensen, who finished 27th with a time of 20:04. Senior Casey Tiedman ran a 20:22 to take home 31st place while Tyler Dahle rounded out Lake Mills lineup with a 22:22, good for 41st place.
On the girls’ side, sophomore Anna Rogers completed the race with a time of 17:12 to take home 19th for Lake Mills.
As the season moves forward, Coach Mark VanGorkom said he likes how is team is progressing.
“We have grown by leaps and bounds.” Coach VanGorkom Commented.
The Bulldogs travel to a familiar site on Thursday, as they travel to Central Springs, a meet they won last year.
