Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast volunteers: Help make Jan. 21 a day for service by helping to greet people, serve breakfast and have enthusiasm for the 25th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast in Albert Lea. It will be in Bethany Hall at First Lutheran Church, from 7 to 8 a.m. Call Stumme at Senior Resources/RSVP at 377-7433 to lend a hand. Keynote speaker is the Rev. John Gutterman, of the United Church of Christ in New Brighton. Albert Lea High School choir members will also perform.

Daffodil Days teams forming: Tasks including ordering, sales and delivery of American Cancer Society Daffodils here in Freeborn County need a helper like you. The campaign preparation begins now in January, so call Rick Jeddeloh at 1-800-227-2345 to partner with an experienced volunteer for this positive step toward reducing the effects of cancer.

Crime Victims Crisis Center: Training for new volunteer advocates for crime victims starts in March. At no cost for the 40-hour training, you can learn to help with group sessions, carry the on-call phone or develop group activities here in Freeborn County. For more information call 377-5463.
