Edward “Jim” Neuhart, 82, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska, Wis., where he had lived the past four years. Jim was born May 24, 1930, in Iowa, graduated from Charles City High School in 1947 and then went to Mankato Business College in Mankato. Jim worked at Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea as auditor of disbursements. Later, he worked in the grocery business, became manager of the Elks Club, and was vice president of Midwest Century Industries, formerly Slifka Sales, and traveled to North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and all over the Midwest.

In 1976 Jim married Joanne Jensen (Worke) from Albert Lea. In 1979 Jim began working for Loma Linda Foods in California as a medical detail representative in the Los Angeles area. Eventually his territory was Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Texas and Hawaii. Jim was transferred to Phoenix in 1980, and they lived in that area 15 years. Jim also worked with a mortgage company as a loan officer in refinancing homes in Arizona and did telephone work for a number of companies.

After Jim’s health began to fail, he and Joanne moved to Germantown, Wis., in 1995 where she managed apartment complexes and Jim did phone work for many companies until they retired in 2002. They then moved to Onalaska, Wis.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne; step-children, Connie K. Sykes (Worke), Onalaska, Wis.; Randy (Elizabeth) Worke, Sparta, Wis.; eight step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Baker, Loveland, Colo., and Linda (Erwin) Christiansen, Webster City, Iowa; brothers-in-law Edwin (Norrine) Jensen, Ellendale; Dennis (Judy) Jensen, Albert Lea; sister-in-law Shirley Jensen, Ellendale; mother-in-law, Clara White, Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska, Wis.; many nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Jerry Webster, in California. Preceding Jim in death were his parents, Edward L. and Virginia (Reiser) Neuhart from Charles City, Iowa.

Jim was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in La Crosse, Wis. He was very involved in the Adventist Church in California and Arizona before he became ill. Jim was cremated and a memorial service was held in the Onalaska Care Center.
