Gary Michael Salisbury, age 53, of Wells, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The Rev. Kathy Fullarton will officiate and interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Gary was born Feb. 3, 1959, in Wells, the son of Lester and Yvonne (Frisk) Salisbury. He graduated from Wells High School, the class of 1977. He was first united in marriage to Denise Kruckburg and to this union two sons, Dylan and Cole were born. The couple later divorced. He worked at Wells Concrete for more than 33 years and for the last many years worked as a lead man. Gary was a 20-year member of the Wells Fire Department and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. On Dec. 15, 2012, Gary was united in marriage to Sara (Sunding) Paal at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Gary enjoyed hunting with his boys, camping as a family and spending time with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sara, of Wells; two sons, Dylan and Cole of Wells/St. Peter; stepson Cody Paal of Wells; parents, Les and Yvonne Salisbury of Wells; three brothers, Kevin (Bea) Salisbury of Winona, David Salisbury of Sheldon, Iowa, and Craig (Karen) Salisbury of Lanesville, Ind.; one sister, Jodie Salisbury of Owatonna; six nieces, Amanda (Jeff) Weifenbach, Rachel Vogel, Leah Salisbury, Megan Salisbury, Shannon Salisbury and Brianne Salisbury; four nephews, Brandon, Jordan, Blake Mutschler of Bricelyn and Nick Sunding of Kiester; one great-niece Kirsten Weifenbach; one great-nephew Payton Weifenbach; former sister-in-law Michelle Salisbury of Spicer; three sisters-in-law, Kim Sunding of Ariz., Jennifer (Jon) Mutschler of Bricelyn, and Lisa Sunding of Kiester; in-laws, John and Kathy Sunding of Hermosa, S.D.; and several aunts and uncles along with their families.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
