The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber Ambassadors will offer six $750 college scholarships for the 2013 school year. Applications are available on the chamber’s website until Feb. 1.

To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Freeborn County and be seeking financial assistance for their freshman year at a college or university. Preference will be given to business majors, but others will be considered. All majors are encouraged to apply.

Factors to be considered by the committee include application and essay questions, potential for success, school, community and church involvement, scholarship, leadership, personality and desire.

Scholarship money will be awarded upon receipt of first quarter/semester grades.

Applications must be completed online and are available at www.albertlea.org under the events tab.
