Hayward 4-H Club
The Hayward 4-H Club wrapped up its 2012 year with a club banquet Nov. 18 at the Hayward Lutheran Church.
It began with the introduction of guests followed by a delicious potluck supper.
After the club ate and visited, awards were presented by Megan Thorson, 4-H program coordinator for Freeborn County Extension Services.
All of the club members had a good year and were recognized for their hard work in their project areas.
The Hayward club was also honored and awarded a trophy for the Large Club of the Year.
This award was earned by overall involvement in club, county and state activities. This was extra special to win this year since it was the 100th year as a club.
Installation of new officers for the 2013 year were announced: Kristen Hahn, president, Addie Wagner, vice president, Julia Otten, secretary, Philipp Wagner, treasurer, Derek Wagner, historian, Noah Iverson, reporter, Bethany Tennis, Sarah De Haan and Liana Schallock, community pride officers, Emma Iverson, activity and cloverbud director and Brenda Hahn, key leader.
At the end of the banquet the club watched a DVD of pictures and video that showed all of the great things completed during the year.
The club is thankful to the Deyo family for making this. It was a fun night to remember the great year had individually and as a club.
