Children’s Theatre to present “Aladdin and His Magic Lamp”

Students at Sibley Elementary School, along with two professional actors, will present Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s original musical version of the tale “Aladdin and His Magic Lamp.” The performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Southwest Little Theatre.
The cost for the performance is $5 for adults and $2 for students.
Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre is a professional touring theater company based in Barrett and has been bringing theater experiences to communities across the upper Midwest since 1987.
The two professional actors will take the roles of Genie of the Lamp and the Evil Magician. The other roles will be filled by students.
Rachel Pfenningwerth, of New York, N.Y., recently taught acting classes at The Secret Theatre in Queens. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from Point Park University. Pfenningwerth will play the Genie of the Lamp.
Randy Warshaw, is also from New York, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in theater arts performance from the University of Northern Colorado. He will play the role of the Evil Magician.
Students have one week of rehearsal prior to the two performances.
