Eloris Worke, 78, Clarks Grove

Memorial Services for Eloris “Tillie” J. Worke of Clarks Grove, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Richard L. Sliper will officiate. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Ellendale.

Eloris died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea at the age of 78.

She was born on May 20, 1934, in Albert Lea, the daughter of John and Henrietta (Wangsness) Anderson. She graduated from Ellendale High School.

On Jan. 30, 1956, she married Virgil C. Worke of Ellendale. Following their marriage, they made their home and settled in Clarks Grove. For many years Eloris waitressed at the uptown cafe in Clarks Grove and later joined the Coffee Haus in Albert Lea. She also did house cleaning for local area families, which she enjoyed. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale.

Her interests were shopping, baking, washing clothes, cleaning, gambling and spending time with family. Fort Myers Beach, Fla., was her favorite destination as she loved the warm climate.

Eloris’ greatest passion was spending time with and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.

Eloris is survived by her husband, Virgil, of Albert Lea; two daughters and their families, Julie (Stuart) Bestul of Apple Valley and their children Kelsey (Zach) Millis of Prior Lake and Cody of Apple Valley and Lisa (Brad) Starin of Prior Lake and their daughters Kali and Karenna; brothers, Jerome (Shirley) Anderson of Cass County, Edward (Kathy) Anderson of New Richland; sister, Gloria (Jack) Jensen of Clarks Grove; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bev and Johnny Standke of Owatonna, Dorothy Johnson of Blooming Prairie and Donald (Dolly) Worke of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ardell Anderson and his wife, Holly; sister, Grace Lundberg and her husband, Red; father-in-law, Helmer Worke, and mother-in-law, Angus Worke; and brothers-in-law Dale (Eleanor) Worke and Jack (Ruby) Worke.
