Keep slushy sidewalks clean

Oh, what a winter we’ve had. A little snow here, a little snow there. Well, when we have the snow, why are there so many people who aren’t going out and shoveling their sidewalks? Next time you’re out driving around, take a look at the sidewalks that still have snow on them. Granted, it’s not 5 or 6 or more inches in one snowfall, but why should that make a difference? You may not have to walk through that snow, but other people do and you present a safety hazard every time you don’t go out there and clean your sidewalks off. There may be houses that are foreclosures, and to the banks I say, hire someone and get them out there to clean the sidewalks. They are, after all, now your responsibility. To everyone else, please be kind to your neighbors, the children going to school, anyone walking for exercise, your mail delivery person, and anyone else who may use your sidewalk and clean your sidewalks. If you can’t physically do it, ask a neighbor or hire someone. It’s the neighborly thing to do.
