On Feb. 4, Kwik Trip Inc. announced it was ranked one of America’s top workplaces by WorkplaceDynamics. Kwik Trip was ranked No. 21 among 872 organizations with more than 1,000 employees.
The National Top Workplace list was determined by feedback gathered through an objective employee survey.
“At Kwik Trip we believe it is important not only to create jobs, but to build a company culture where people enjoy coming to work,” John McHugh, Kwik Trip’s manager of corporate communications, said. “In our industry, excellent customer service is critical to our success. We can’t expect our people to provide great customer service if we don’t first of all, take care of our people.”
In the surveys, co-workers at Kwik Trip highlighted the 40 percent profit sharing, an internal organization called Families Helping Families and the management team keeping them well informed about the direction of the company.
Based in La Crosse, Wis., Kwik Trip Inc. is one of the largest independently held convenience store chains in the United States. Kwik Trip owns and operates more than 435 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa and employs more than 10,800 people.
Albert Lea has two Kwik Trip locations and a third planned to be constructed this summer.
