Naeve Health Care Foundation announced its 2013 gift to Mayo Clinic Health System, a monetary donation of $202,624 toward a new patient call light system in Albert Lea’s hospital and clinic and a $1,000 sponsorship to the Women’s Health Care Symposium.
The patient call light system allows patients to contact staff for help by the push of a button. This new system will replace the current call light system which is more than 15 years old and at the end of warranty support. The new system will also provide tracking information for process improvement by running reports that show how long it takes to answer a patient’s call.
“The board of trustees supports this project because so many will be impacted: patients, families, nurses and providers,” Dave Bonnerup, development officer, said. “Everyone will benefit from this updated system.”
The Women’s Health Care Symposium is in its fifth year and was scheduled for Feb. 2 at Wedgewood Cove, 2200 W. 9th St., Albert Lea.
Naeve Health Care Foundation is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation supporting local health care through gifts to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
