A 35-year-old Albert Lea man pleaded not guilty Monday in Freeborn County District Court to selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.
Juan Antonio Esparza-Martinez faces four counts of first-degree methamphetamine sales allegedly out of the Lagos Repair shop, 1517 S.E. Broadway.
Court documents state Esparza-Martinez, the owner of the shop, allegedly sold the drug on three different occasions to the officer:
• On Aug. 16 he reportedly sold 28 grams.
• On Aug. 23 he reportedly sold 82 grams.
• On Oct. 19, he reportedly sold 27 grams.
The drugs were weighed at a drug enforcement agency crime lab, the court file states.
In court Monday, Esparza-Martinez requested a jury trial.
The trial has been slated for June 4, with a pre-trial hearing May 31.
