Parkinson’s support group to meet

The Southern Minnesota Parkinson’s Support Group is slated to meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Albert Lea Senior Center in Skyline Plaza.
The featured program will be on swallowing, presented by a therapist from Health Reach. Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder and the most common movement disorder, according to a news release from the support group. In the U.S., about 1 million people are affected by Parkinson’s disease, it states. There are many symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, one of which can be trouble swallowing.
