Writers, judge not lest ye be judged

To Ms. Jody Johnson and Mr. Keith Porter, why don’t you two give it a rest? It would be one thing if the two of you were perfect and had never done anything wrong in your lives, but unless you are also not liars, we know you have.

Do you mean to say you smile and laugh still? Shouldn’t you be hanging your head and sulking for the rest of your life? And for your information, Ms. Johnson, Brianna Broitzman was sentenced to 180 days in jail, which was more the recommended guidelines that was given at her sentencing hearing. She was given a staggered sentence which means she served 60 days in October then 60 days in May and then the remaining 60 days after that. She served her first 60 days and served 48 days in jail. She is serving the sentence that she was given and doing the time for her punishment.

Do you think the only punishment she got was the jail time? You don’t think that every day what she has done doesn’t impact her life somehow? When did the two of you become judge and jury?

Maybe instead of using your time to continue to beat somebody down you could take a few Bible study classes. The two of you and maybe many more in this town who are so good at judging others — the Sunday Christians — will have some explaining to do when the day comes because we are told in Matthew 7:1 and 2: “Do not judge, or you, too, will be judged. For in the same way you judge others you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
