Here are highlights in history for Feb. 18, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1978 — Dial Enterprises Corp. of Omaha, Neb., would be leasing and managing Albert Lea’s new Northbridge Mall Shopping Center.
1977 — The February weekend specials at Sirloin Stockade., 804 E. Main St., were a steak filet for $2.49 and a sizz-k-bob for $1.99. Both specials included choice of potatoes and toast.
1957 — An editorial, cartoon and front page article was promoting the Freeborn County Grit Club. There was also a membership application form for the club dedicated to cleaning up the area lakes and streams.
