Austin man injured in I-90 crash

OAKLAND — An Austin man received minor injuries in a crash on Interstate 90 on Tuesday night.

Stephen Gach, 39, was driving a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick westbound on I-90 near milepost 171 in Freeborn County a mile south of Oakland when he lost control on an icy patch. The driver of a 2011 Hyundai Accent rear-ended Gach and both went into the ditch, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The name of the second driver was not released.

The State Patrol report says roads were icy and that the crash happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Gold Cross Ambulance responded. Gach was treated for minor injuries at the Austin hospital, according to the State Patrol.

Milepost 171 is two miles from the Mower County line.
