NEW YORK — Montreal Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty, Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron and Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending March 3, according to a press release.

Backstrom went 3-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in three appearances. He made 20 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory against the Calgary Flames Feb. 26 and another 25 stops in a 4-3 win at the Phoenix Coyotes Feb. 28. Backstrom then made 19 saves in a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers March 3. With the win, he improved to 17-0-0 against the Oilers.
