MINNEAPOLIS — The NCAA women’s hockey tournament is down to the final four teams, and Minnesota’s record 47-game winning streak is still alive.
The Gophers get to host the national semifinals, too.
Minnesota advanced to the Frozen Four with a 3-2 win over North Dakota in triple overtime on Saturday. The Gophers will face Boston College this Friday at Ridder Arena, their home ice. Mercyhurst will play Boston University in the other semifinal. The winners will meet next Sunday for the title.
This is the ninth appearance by the defending champion Gophers in the Frozen Four since the NCAA first sanctioned the sport in 2001. This is Boston College’s third consecutive trip.
