Kathryn Allen, 96, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Kathryn S. Allen will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Kathryn Allen died on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 96 years old.
Kathryn was born on Nov. 3, 1916, in Burt, Iowa. The daughter of Robert and Esther (Arbiter) Shea, she attended Blue Earth Schools, and in 1938, moved to Albert Lea. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Allen and together they raised two children.
Kathryn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a member in the women’s groups and taught Sunday school. She was involved in the Eagles, American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed taking walks.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Larry (Rose) Allen of Westminster, Colo., and Carol (Ronald) Tuttle of Solon Springs, Wis.; grandchildren, Wesley Tuttle, Steven Tuttle, Debra Golden, Allen Tuttle, Shea Allen and Rachel Allen; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Shea; husband, Lawrence; four sisters; and five brothers.
