The Freeborn County Pheasant and Habitat will hold its annual banquet and fundraiser Saturday at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds in the 4-H buildings.
The group which started in 1973 stocks pheasants in the area, holds land specifically used for pheasant hunting and provides food for pheasants during the winter.
This past April the group released 250 adult birds and raised 1,350 baby chicks, which were later released.
Freeborn County Pheasant and Habitat also purchases trees to maintain the habitat for pheasants.
This year’s fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The meal is being catered by Piggy Blues and a ticket costs $20. A ticket is also good for a chance at one of the 10 grand prizes that will be given out at the end of the night. Many other prizes will be awarded throughout the night as well.
This is the only fundraiser of the year for the group.
