ST. PAUL — A contest for ideas to improve St. Paul has generated a flood of entries after sponsors promised to spend $1 million to make the winner a reality.
The St. Paul Forever Challenge drew more than 900 entries by Wednesday’s deadline. They included a Twin Cities water-trolley system, a fishing museum and a treehouse resort.
St. Paul Foundation spokeswoman Naomi Pesky said that the organization is thrilled by the response.
The winning idea will be chosen in September, with $15,000 going to the person who suggested it.
